Our spot in Encinitas prominent Seabluffe complex — surrounded by the best beaches in San Diego County — is perfect for a carefree family beach getaway with ocean views on every floor.
Our unit is 3 bedroom, 2 bath on 2.5 floors, with an additional loft-office. We’ve kept the place with clean lines and have furnished it in a beach-modern style. The whole place was remodeled a year ago, with new luxury finishes throughout.
The Seabluff complex is built around wide lawns and tons of mature vegetation that remind us of (a so-cal version) of our favorite Big Island resort. They are simply the best place to take walk, and run leashed dogs (and kids as the case may be).The complex is very low density by any modern coastal standard, which allows every unit to breathe and feel very private behind the 24-hr guarded gates.
And above all, it is literal steps to the beach, and west of coast highway, meaning there isn’t even a road to cross between you and the best beaches in So-Cal. Perfect for parents and ultra-safe for kids. With multiple pools, jacuzzi, picnic areas, tennis, pickle ball and basketball courts, it has amenities, privacy and security that you can’t get at nearly any price.
Our place is perfect for that extended stay, with the best of San Diego's famous climate in both summer and winter. You are steps-to-minutes away from the best beaches in California, 15 minutes from Carlsbad's flower fields, strawberry-picking and Legoland. Another 40 minutes south and you are in the heart of San Diego with quick access to the San Diego Zoo, Safari Park, Balboa Park, Midway Museum, Sea World... the list goes on and on.
Bedrooms:
The Master features a king bed and a full bath with fantastic water pressure (a rarity at the beach).
Second bedroom is a queen, and features its own closet and a work nook.
Upstairs is a double-size kids suite that serves as both a play area and sleeping area. The upstairs bedroom features a full/twin bunk bed set, as well as a twin daybed with trundle.
Other spaces:
The work-loft is perched at the top of the house and features it’s own little ocean view for when the meetings get to be too much. It also has a built-in futon bed that our daughter uses as a reading nook.
The chef’s kitchen is all new, and features top-tier coffee and tea gear, which get my wife and I through the day.
The private back deck runs the full width of the unit, and is accessible from the family room and directly via the master suite. It features automatic tivoli lighting and an umbrella-covered hexagonal table that seats 4-6 placed atop a large piece of artificial turf. This is our favorite place to do dinner.
The space features lots of calming grays and blues, and accents pops of color - just like the fabulous beach sunsets you will enjoy from the unit or the beach-access overlooks throughout the gated complex.
