Summary: Accommodation was superficially clean but underneath furniture and kitchen cupboards were obviously not cleaned regularly. We thought dishwasher was smelling but this not rectified by putting it through high heat wash. I picked this rental as it said it had two toilets/bathrooms. When we arrived we found that top bathroom was a macerating unit with signs that this could only be used for urine. Not quite what we had been expecting but we would manage a weekend break. Upstairs toilet/shower ended up out of use anyway as we had leaks from both of these units with water coming through downstairs ceilings. Prompt reply to first call about shower leak but we thought we’d manage with one downstairs bath/shower. No reply to email about toilet leak. Not great having one toilet and shower for weekend. As previously mentioned bottom shower room was cold and a far walk during the night. I did speak with York stays and they were going to update the description of this house in regards to toilet facilities- but not sure if that’s been done. The property is in a quiet area and an ideal spot for exploring York. Beds and pillows were comfortable with fresh clean linen that led to good nights sleep. I would recommend this property for its location to York city centre.
