The condo features an airy open floor plan with wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows that afford you both ocean and mountain views. Open the lanai doors to allow the comfortable Hawaiian trade winds and the sounds of gently breaking waves to float through the condo or close the lanai doors and enjoy the comfort of AC provided by two mini-split AC units, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. The living room features a 50” Samsung flatscreen smart TV with cable and Amazon 4K Fire TV stick, a glider swivel rocker, and a bluetooth stereo bar. The condo has high speed wi-fi and an electronic charging station for laptops and cell phones.
Kitchen: The fully stocked and equipped kitchen provides a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, oven, and dishwasher, a wonderful cooking area, should you decide to dine in. The dining table for four is situated so that you get marvelous views of the ocean and Hoai Bay. As an alternative you can enjoy a cozy dinner for two on the wicker table on the lanai.
Sleeping Areas: The condo provides sleeping arrangements for either a couple or a small family. The bedroom has a Cal King Tempur-Pedic mattress, and the living room has a comfortable queen-size memory foam sleeper.
Bathroom: The fully remodeled bathroom is bigger than most bathrooms and provides a walk in shower and plenty of places to hang and store your gear.
Flooring: The flooring is completely tile so you don’t have to worry if you spill something and it is easy to manage should you track in sand or water, a common occurrence in Hawaii!
Kuhio Shores Amenities: The condo building has two elevators and carts for getting your baggage to your room, washer/dryer units on each floor with coin changing machine, and a barbecue area should you decide you wish to grill. You can enjoy amazing sunsets from the lawn immediately in front of the condo building. A parking pass in the condo at the time of check-in will provide you parking for one car in the condo’s parking lot.
Activities: Some of the best snorkeling on the island can be found just steps from the condo at Lawai Beach, which also provides a small beach that is perfect for youngsters. Across the street you can enjoy Prince Kuhio Park and a 10 minute walk brings you to the Kukui’ula Shopping Center where you can wander among its many restaurants, shops, galleries, and weekly Wednesday farmers market. Short drives of less than 5 minutes will bring you to lush native plants and a charming waterfall at the National Tropical Botanical Gardens, a stunning waterspout at the Spouting Horn and a calm, protected beach at Kukui‘ula Harbor. Kukui‘ula Harbor is also a common starting point for commercial tours featuring whale-watching, snorkeling, scuba diving, and other ocean-based activities. Since many of these tours start early in the morning, it is nice to have a short drive with easy parking to start your day.
Dining: You are only steps away from the romantic, award-winning Beach House Restaurant where you can either eat or kick back and relax with a Mai Tai while watching surfers catch their last rides of the day in front of a gorgeous sunset. Alternatively, a short 5-10 minute drive brings you to the many restaurants and bars in Poipu, charming old-town Koloa, or Kukui’ulu Shopping Center.
Location: The condo is a 30 minute drive from the airport and a 10 minute drive from the main loop road on the island. Immediately after you turn off the main loop road and head to the condo you will pass through a magical half-mile long tunnel of trees. The condo is roughly a 30 minute drive from south-side and east-side attractions and a 60-75 minute drive from north-side attractions. The condo is east-facing which means that you will enjoy spectacular sunrises and afternoon/evening shade on the lanai. The condo fronts the protected waters of Hoai Bay which allows you to view sea turtles while still affording you direct oceanfront and mountain views. We have seen both whales and dolphins from our lanai.
